Saguache Social Department of Social Services is now accepting applications for the position of Child Protection Caseworker. Salary range $2,400.00 to $2,620.00 depending on experience. Bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences required.

24 hours per week, variable schedule. Cleaning and grounds maintenance must be able to lift at least 20lbs, filing and other office duties as assigned.   Phone and computer skills required, must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and have cash handling experience.

Operator II – Seeking individual with mechanical repair and maintenance experience on diesel and heavy equipment. Must have knowledge of airbrakes and fleet maintenance experience. Must have a current CDL class A with current medical certification. Perspective employee must pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal history inquiry. Must be physically capable of periods of sustained physical exertion and may be required to lift and move up to 75 lbs. to 100 lbs. Operator 1- Employee must be able to operate light and heavy equipment and perform manual labor in the maintenance, repair, and minor construction of roads, streets, bridges, signs, markings, and related facilities. A class A CDL license with heavy semi-truck endorsement and current medical certification is required.  Prospective employee must pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check. Employee must be physically capable of periods of sustained physical exertion and may be required to lift and move up to 75 lbs. to 150 lbs.

Temporary Summer Help approx 3 months –

Perform a wide variety of manual and limited semi-skilled tasks such as building and grounds construction and maintenance and repair work. Works as a flagman on maintenance projects. Performs other work as assigned. Must be able to communicate both written and orally with members of the public. Must have a valid driver’s license and be 18 years old. Must have knowledge of common hand and power tools, shovels, wrenches, and radios. Must be able to lift 50 to 70 pounds and occasionally up to 150 pounds. Must have strength to shovel. Must be able to work in various climate conditions and be able to stand for long periods of time. Applicants chosen as final candidates for employment with Saguache County must submit and pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal history inquiry.
